Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter for WPDE-TV located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was an anchor in the morning and a reporter for WCBD TV. O'Dell's reports in Charleston about the police's leniency when it comes to DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. The result was the state government imposing more stringent guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Award all media South Carolina.
